About the Role

Christus Health seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Armed Security Officer to provide top-notch security services at our hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Summary

The Armed Security Officer will serve as a visible deterrent to criminal activity, patrol hospital buildings and grounds, respond to emergency situations, and conduct preliminary investigations of reported incidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrolling and Monitoring: Conduct frequent security patrols of hospital facilities and grounds to prevent and detect any security-related issues.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to all emergency codes, internal/external disaster events, and other security-related incidents.
  • Incident Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and detailed incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with hospital staff, patients, and visitors to ensure seamless operations and address any concerns or issues.
  • Enforcement: Enforce all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Christus Health and relevant laws.
  • Parking Enforcement: Control and enforce facility parking through patrols, violation warnings, towing, booting, and explaining rules as applicable.
  • Conflict Resolution: Assist clinical/non-clinical staff with combative patients or visitors, promoting a safe environment and adhering to hospital policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications: Level 3 Certification (Texas) and valid motor vehicle license required. Other certifications may be required based on location and job requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong investigative skills, conflict resolution skills, ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
  • Work Environment: Frequent exposure to aggressive behavior, emotionally charged situations, hazardous conditions, heat, cold, and long periods of walking, standing, stooping, and lifting.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
