Job Summary:

The Children's Center of Brookline is seeking an experienced educator to join our team as an Early Childhood Support Staff. This position works alongside our student teachers and interns, providing support and guidance in a cooperative work environment that values teachers, students, and prioritizes planning and prep time, creativity and connections with the students and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation, implementation, and maintenance of safe, fun, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate curriculum in a nature/outdoor focused setting for children ages 1.5 years to age 5.
  • Assist in supporting the growth of our team of interns and student teachers, providing guidance and mentorship in best practices in early childhood education.
  • Perform day-to-day tasks that assist and support the classrooms, including bathrooming, diapering, classroom maintenance, cleanliness, etc.
  • Model best practices in the field of early childhood education to student teachers, interns, and faculty with a wide range of prior experience.
  • Support the development and implementation of trauma-informed teaching practices in everyday interactions with students.

Requirements:

  • EEC certification or proof of a recent College-Level Course in Child Development.
  • Experience working with children ages 1.5 years to age 5.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide guidance and support to student teachers and interns.
  • Comfortable supporting students with a variety of needs and integrating trauma-informed teaching practices into daily interactions.
  • Ability to model best practices in early childhood education and provide guidance to colleagues.
