Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse at CPUP plays a vital role in assisting physicians and delivering healthcare services to patients in various settings. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient conditions, collecting samples, and performing assigned tasks under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administers prescribed medications, injections, and vaccines.
  • Conducts electrocardiograms (EKG) and other screening tests.
  • Collects and tests specimens according to established protocols, documenting results and addressing any unexpected findings.
  • Prepares specimens for transport as required.
  • Gathers patient information and directs it to the RN or Provider as necessary.
  • Assists healthcare providers during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and proper wound care.
  • Completes necessary paperwork to finalize patient visits.
  • Records and monitors patients' vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to the provider.
  • Maintains cleanliness and functionality of instruments and equipment.
  • Oversees medication storage areas.
  • Participates in the orientation of new team members.
  • Performs additional duties as needed to support the unit and healthcare system.


Qualifications:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (Required)
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Diploma from a Practical Nursing Program (Required)
  • 1+ years of outpatient experience (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in computer software applications.
  • Strong client and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
