At Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, we're committed to providing exceptional guest experiences. As a Host/Cashier, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our guests feel welcome and comfortable from the moment they walk in the door.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and efficient service to guests, ensuring their dining experience is highly satisfactory.
  • Control the flow of business in the dining room, ensuring guests feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Check out guests at the register, asking for feedback and thanking them for their visit.
  • Anticipate and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Assist servers and bus persons with pre-bussing procedures, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  • Perform side work during shift downtime, including rolling silverware, restocking cleaning supplies, and bussing tables.
  • Communicate with Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment issues, and safety concerns.

Requirements:

  • Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to see at a distance (20 feet), at close range (12 inches), and distinguish between shapes and utilize peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and have high-level mobility/flexibility in the workspace.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform addition/subtraction calculations.
  • Must be able to control and utilize fingers to write, slice, chop, and operate equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold.
  • Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2 1/2 - 3 feet.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress during busy times.

Supervision Received:

Receives direction and training from Manager on Duty as to specific procedures and assignments.

Knowledge and Skill Required:

Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service can be taught through in-house training.
