Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler I Yard to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a Material Handler I Yard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products on our premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Physically handle materials used to construct components and finished products to optimize movement and ensure timely delivery.
  • Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, including specialized equipment that may require training.
  • Respond to training and guidance from supervisors and senior handlers to increase knowledge of work processes and improve performance.
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to yourself and coworkers, and participate in periodic safety meetings as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and knowledge of safety procedures while performing materials handling tasks.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
