We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer 1 to join our team at North Star Scientific Corporation. As a Mechanical Engineer 1, you will provide mechanical engineering support for the design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of ruggedized radar and communication systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design electronics packaging, cooling systems, cable assemblies, test fixtures, and other custom parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
- Assist in the thermal and structural analysis of designs using analytical and computational methods.
- Create drawings, bill of materials, written procedures, technical reports, and other design documentation.
- Assist in the performance of testing to verify designs meet requirements.
- Provide technical support to the quality assurance department.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering.
- High level of verbal and written communications skills.
- Firm grasp of fundamentals of solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Professional Suite.
- Experience with 3D CAD design software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and CATIA.
- Familiarity with structural and fluid dynamics simulation software such as SolidWorks Simulation, SolidWorks Flow, STAR-CCM+, and Ansys.
- Competency in the preparation of engineering drawings in accordance with ASME standards.
