Job Summary:

WellSpan Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Administer medications and perform various nursing procedures under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.

Provide general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, changing bed linens and bed pans, and positioning.

Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.

Assist patients with getting into and out of chairs, lifting patients, raising patients in beds, and turning patients.

Check patient vital signs and chart results of various tests.

Monitor medical conditions of patients and report changes to appropriate personnel.

Prepare patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.

Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.

Arrange for patients' ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Provide health care instruction/education to patients and family members.

Ensure accurate maintenance of patients' medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.

Perform various nursing administrative duties.

Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.

Requirements:

Current LPN license in PA.

BCLS/ACLS/PALS certification, as required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Completion of accredited LPN program.

Rhythm recognition course per unit of assignment.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking.

Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.

Lifts supplies/equipment.

Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.

Work Environment:

This position is located in the Medical Surgical department of the WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital and requires working night shifts, including every 3rd weekend, 1 major, 1 minor, and 1 split holiday. Eligible for shift differential.
