Certified Anesthesia Specialist

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will administer general and regional anesthesia for various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. You will work under the medical supervision of an Anesthesiologist and provide care to patients of different age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating patients pre-operatively by interviewing and examining them, and reviewing their charts for relevant information.
- Selecting anesthetic for patients based on pre-operative examinations.
- Administering anesthesia in accordance with delineated clinical privileges and any conditions or restrictions imposed.
- Monitoring patients intraoperatively and evaluating their operative and post-operative conditions.
- Precepting student nurse anesthetists and maintaining accurate accounting of controlled substances.
Requirements:
You must be a Registered Nurse with a graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program. You must also hold a California Registered Nurse License, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification, and National Provider Identifier. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications are also required.
