POSITION: SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Oversee the comprehensive Balance of Plant (BOP) engineering and design across various projects involving gas turbine generators and compressor systems.
  • Manage technical aspects of projects or proposals, which encompass gas compressor stations, power generation facilities, offshore Single Lift Modules, and Modular Building Solutions, specifically Configurable Modular Prefabricated Buildings (CMPB).
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, supply chain teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless technical execution of projects.
  • Engage with various internal teams and external partners, including customer management and subcontractors, to facilitate project success.
  • Travel to fabrication and installation sites as necessary to meet project demands.
  • Exhibit flexibility in personal scheduling to accommodate project timelines and travel requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required; degrees in Structural or Chemical Engineering may also be considered.
  • A Master's Degree in Engineering is advantageous.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License is highly desirable.
  • At least 15 years of experience leading engineering efforts on large-scale projects within the oil and gas sector.
  • Familiarity with relevant fabrication and construction codes, including ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API, NEC, and IEC.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to travel internationally; a current US passport is preferred.
  • Proven ability in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Capability to identify and mitigate technical, budgetary, and scheduling risks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and a sense of urgency in managing multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS O365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Experience with 6-Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Background in working with fabrication facilities is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical equipment, including turbines and compressors, is beneficial.

PROJECT COMPLEXITY:

Responsible for planning, developing, and directing engineering activities for new business proposals and established projects, with project values ranging from $500K to over $50 million. Projects vary in complexity, geographic scope, and require specific engineering oversight.

WORK DIRECTION:

  • Operates with a degree of autonomy under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Reports to the Project Execution Engineering Manager.
  • Adheres to established processes and recommends design or process changes as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage technical scope, schedules, and budgets while supporting fabrication and construction efforts.
  • Develop and oversee the Engineering Deliverable Report (EDR) and ensure timely updates to project deliverables.
  • Review and validate engineered products for technical soundness and accuracy.
  • Facilitate weekly engineering meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly project reports detailing achievements, budget status, and project metrics.
  • Lead the development of milestone schedules for key project deliverables.
  • Ensure timely review and return of vendor documentation.
  • Compile Lessons Learned for project evaluations.
  • Support field operations during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.

LIAISON:

  • Maintain frequent communication with engineers, managers, and quality assurance teams to provide technical guidance.
  • Occasionally engage with suppliers and customers to expedite documentation and resolve technical issues.

BUSINESS IMPACT:

Contribute to organizational effectiveness by completing tasks on schedule and ensuring high-quality project deliverables.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate in technical Spanish is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in facilities design, construction, or operations is beneficial.
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a Green Card with authorization to work in the USA.
