Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit, you will deliver personalized nursing care to patients with medical conditions requiring a higher level of attention than that provided in a general ward but less than that in an intensive care unit. This role also includes specialization in peritoneal dialysis.
Unit Environment:
The Progressive Care Unit features a 17-bed setup, primarily consisting of private rooms, designed to create a warm and healing atmosphere. Our dedicated nursing staff specializes in caring for patients with intermediary medical and renal needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care following established protocols and procedures.
- Implement and oversee patient care plans.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as per nursing protocols.
- Assess and manage discharge planning needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and education.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a degree from an accredited nursing program, with a BSN preferred. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required, along with certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional certifications may be necessary depending on the specific care area.
Work Environment:
This role demands critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to function with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting. Candidates should be prepared to handle the physical and emotional challenges associated with patient care.
