Role Details:

  • Duration: Initial contract of 3 months, with potential for extension
Work Schedule:
  • Shift Coverage:
    • Standard Shifts: 12-hour shifts available for both day and night
    • Minimum Shifts: 3 shifts monthly, with opportunities for additional shifts based on availability
  • Patient Demographics:
    • Patient Volume: Moderate to high, focusing on acute care for diverse age groups
    • Trauma Level: Facility designated as a Level 4 trauma center, requiring comfort with various emergency cases
  • Support Staff:
    • Team Composition: Collaborative environment with attending physicians, fellow APPs, and nursing personnel
    • Backup Specialties: Access to various specialties for consultations and transfers as necessary
Qualifications:
  • Licensing:
    • State License: Active Tennessee medical license required, or eligibility for immediate licensure
    • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required, with current BLS certifications also necessary
  • Experience:
    • Emergency Medicine Experience: Significant experience in an emergency department setting, with the ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions
  • Credentialing:
    • Timeframe: Expedited credentialing available, with an estimated timeframe of 30-60 days
Additional Insights:
  • EMR System: Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems is preferred
  • Privileges: Temporary privileges may be granted for qualified candidates to commence work promptly
  • Schedule Flexibility: While night shifts are preferred, there is flexibility to cover both day and night shifts based on the provider's availability
