At Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the operating room to the recovery area.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate nursing care of surgical patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Comply with unit, state, federal, and JCAHO standards.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and precise care in crisis and emergency situations.
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of patient assessment techniques, treatment techniques, and unit-specific equipment.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program.
- Current and valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license with biannual renewal.
- CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date.
- ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire and maintained.
- Previous PACU and/or ICU experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of principles of asepsis.
- Ability to work effectively with others and maintain a professional attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
