Biology Instructor

Solano Community College is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach human cadaver-based anatomy and physiology courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching various areas of biology, including human anatomy and physiology, to pre-professional students.

• Teach human cadaver-based anatomy and physiology courses, including lecture and laboratory sections.
• Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to facilitate student learning.
• Work collaboratively with other faculty members and laboratory technicians to ensure smooth and safe laboratory operations.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills necessary to teach anatomy and physiology.

• Master's degree in any biological science or a bachelor's degree in biological science and a master's degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science.
• Commitment to student learning and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Ability to work in a small office or larger room with multiple people, in a primarily sedentary nature, either sitting or standing.

• Well-rounded, hands-on knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Human cadaver dissection experience is preferred.
• Clinical or academic background and work experience that brings new strengths and perspective to our department is encouraged.
