Position Overview:
We are in search of Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants to become integral members of our esteemed medical group. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with a variety of clinical cases and pursue ongoing professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia for a range of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, spine, general, and urological operations.
- Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists to ensure safe and effective anesthesia management throughout the surgical process.
- Prepare and maintain essential anesthesia equipment and medications.
- Assist in the placement and management of monitoring devices, such as arterial and central lines.
- Support airway management tasks, including intubation and extubation.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary.
- Document patient care activities with precision and accuracy.
- Facilitate patient transport and transition to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Anesthesia Assistant (CAA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) is required.
- Valid certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Possession of an active CAA license in the state of practice, free from any disciplinary actions.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication abilities and a strong capacity to work effectively within a healthcare team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in the operation of anesthesia equipment and the administration of medications.
- Flexibility to adapt to various hospital environments and anesthesia protocols.
Educational Background:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline such as nursing, pre-med, or biology is required.
- Graduation from an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program is essential.
- A Master's degree in Anesthesiologist Assistant Studies is preferred.
