Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Insurance Broker to join our team at TrueNorth Companies. As a key member of our Production Team, you will be responsible for building unique insurance programs and risk management strategies to assist companies and their people to protect and maximize assets, resources, and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain growing knowledge of insurance coverages & structures and understand the different processes associated with the varying coverages and insurers
  • Accurately address coverage questions with clients, production team, comply with requests and accurate information to clients and production team
  • Prepare supporting documentation when necessary
  • Assist in gathering information and submitting applications, including summary of losses and cover letters, to selected market partners.
  • Assist in product analysis and comparisons with current and proposed products
  • Review & verify all coverages for new & renewal quotations policies prior to binding/placement of coverage
  • Present various market options to production team and visit the client with the producer when necessary
  • Maintain quality relationship with market partners on a daily basis by providing professional consistent, timely and accurate communication. Measured by production team and market partners and senior broker's feedback
  • Continuously seek to identify opportunities & solutions that allow for more effective and efficient delivery of a top-quality client experience in relation to new services, coverages, etc.
  • Regularly participate in training and meetings in order to better assist external and internal customers
  • Maintain agency management systems and follow standard operating procedures
  • Review renewals with Production Team days prior to renewal. Request necessary updates from the client or through production team, market renewal or order from current insurance company/broker. Prepare renewal comparison. Evaluated by Professional Standards Review
  • Participate in continuing education and professional designation opportunities

Requirements

  • A four-year degree required
  • Experience in negotiating contracts
  • Appropriate licenses and/or designation(s) required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment; maintain annually
  • Firm working knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverages and services, preferred emphasis on transportation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions
  • Knowledge of insurance terms and documents
  • Experience with Foundational technical insurance knowledge preferred
