As a Quality Assurance Specialist at OFI, you will play an important role in maintaining the highest standard for Food Safety, Quality and Legality. You will be responsible for performing lab tasks in a microbiology and chemistry capacity, using approved chemicals in lab, performing record reviews, and raising any quality issues or non-conformances to supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform lab tasks in a microbiology and chemistry capacity.
  • Use approved chemicals in lab.
  • Perform record reviews.
  • Raise any quality issues or non-conformances to supervision.
  • Conduct Fill/Net weight testing.
  • Conduct HACCP related CCP testing.
  • Conduct Product code verification.
  • Perform Visual Defect and Destruct Testing on glass jars and cans.
  • Perform Post-Cook evaluation of glass jars and cans.
  • Conduct Total Solid testing.
  • Collect samples from any of the Production lines.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, and comply with all safety policies and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
  • Must have ability to perform tasks in a microbiology and chemistry lab, using chemicals for testing.
  • Must have knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Must have knowledge of Good Documentation practices.
  • Must have ability to read, analyze and write reports.
  • Must have ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and committed to quality mindset.
  • Must work well under pressure and be highly responsive to short deadlines.
  • Must have ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Having 2-3 years in an analytical role in consumer products is a plus.
  • Having food manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Being proficiency with MS programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is a plus.
  • Be able to work in a light industrial and somewhat warm environment during summer or cool areas during the winter.
