Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Paint Team Member to join our team at Textron Aviation. As a key member of our paint team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and prepared surfaces of aircraft for primer and finish paint application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform surface preparation of aircraft prior to painting, including marking areas to be filled and applying hardener and filler to unfinished areas.
  • Spray primer, paint filler, and protective paint on prepared surfaces, using some judgment to obtain the desired finish.
  • Prepare plastic or fiberglass parts of aircraft using filler to provide a uniform surface for paint adhesion.
  • Rough and finish aircraft parts using various types of sandpaper and hand sanding machines to provide a surface for paint adhesion and a smooth appearance.
  • May spray primers or various paint finishes to parts, assemblies, or completed aircraft.
  • Responsible for the quality of own work and uses painting equipment, including brushes and spray guns, to perform minor rework, touchup, priming, and finish painting of partial aircraft.
  • Other duties may include applying alodine, washing aircraft, or sealing various components.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
  • Prior paint experience is preferred.
  • Team-oriented, self-driven, and safety-conscious individual with a goal-oriented mindset and a commitment to meeting and/or exceeding quality expectations.
