Transportation Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and efficient preventative and repair maintenance to all Family Dollar transportation equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all necessary repairs to tractors, switchers, and trailers, excluding engine and transmission components.
- Mount and dismount tires.
- Brand and place tires in inventory.
- Conduct periodic FHWA inspections, inbound equipment inspections, and PM follow-up work.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate parts inventory system.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and lead technician as needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure personal safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe working environment within the transportation department.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance, or a Diesel/Auto Technical School degree.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a Class A CDL is preferred.
- Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Team members will work in a non-climate-controlled atmosphere, exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
AvailabilityTeam members will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
