Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and evaluate urine, oral fluid, and blood specimens for testing, prioritizing work to maintain acceptable turn-around-time.
- Work with immunoassays, including ELISA, to interpret data and test results.
- Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy, recognizing and correcting errors and unusual results.
- Recognize unacceptable and unusual specimens and handle them appropriately.
- Use quality control samples and proficiency samples to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Follow quality control rules, monitoring controls for error detection and taking corrective action.
- Maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control charts, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.
- Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment, performing scheduled and as-needed maintenance and critical function checks.
- Perform all duties according to standard operating procedures and/or supervisor instruction.
- Maintain a fully operational understanding of chain of custody processes within the lab.
- Deliver quality patient care through diagnostic and occupational testing, maintaining efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance and quality control with appropriate documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
- Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is not required.
- ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficient with computers, familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
