We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care and services to our consumers in our residential homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Takes, monitors, and records vital signs
  • Observes, records, and reports symptoms, reactions, and changes in patients' condition
  • Prepares and administers prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies
  • Educates staff, families, and patients on routine care and prevention procedures
  • Inventories, orders, and stocks medications and medical supplies
  • Maintains medical charts and records
  • Transports individuals to medical appointments
  • Schedules patient appointments

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of practical nursing; of medical terminology
  • Ability to apply simple nursing techniques; to record accurate information on patients' charts; to follow verbal and written directions; to follow established policies and procedures; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Possess licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing
  • Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
