Position Summary:
Next Move Healthcare is looking for a proficient and dedicated Certified Surgical Technician to enhance our surgical team in Waco, Texas. This critical role is essential for the seamless operation of our surgical services, directly impacting patient care and surgical outcomes. As a surgical technician, you will provide support to the surgical team during various procedures, ensuring compliance with high standards of care and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and uphold sterile environments in the operating room before and during surgical procedures.
- Assist in organizing the operating room with necessary surgical instruments and supplies.
- Conduct counts of sponges, sharps, instruments, and other items in accordance with established protocols.
- Anticipate the requirements of the surgical team and provide assistance during operations.
- Manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies throughout the procedures.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization standards.
- Assist in draping and positioning patients for surgical interventions.
- Handle surgical specimens following established protocols.
- Clean and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization processes.
- Maintain comprehensive records of procedures, instruments, and supplies utilized.
Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from the NBSTSA, NCCT, or equivalent body.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Experience in a surgical environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Wage: $25 - $36, based on experience.
