New York, New York, United States Clear Street Full time
About Clear Street

Clear Street is a pioneering company in the capital markets industry, dedicated to building modern infrastructure for the sector. Founded in 2018 by a team of experienced professionals from Wall Street and Silicon Valley, Clear Street is an independent, non-bank prime broker that aims to solve the industry's most pressing problem: legacy technology.

The company has developed a proprietary, cloud-native clearing and custody system from the ground up, designed to replace outdated infrastructure used across capital markets. This innovative platform is fully integrated with central clearing houses and exchanges, supporting billions in trading volume per day. Clear Street's team has carefully crafted thoughtful APIs, agonized over data model abstractions, and created horizontal scalability to provide a best-in-class experience for clients.

By combining highly skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, Clear Street is building the essential tools to compete in today's fast-paced markets.

The Role

We are seeking a Middle Office Analyst to join our Clear Street Derivatives team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Derivatives Product and engineering teams to define an end-to-end operation environment for derivatives. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Interacting directly with clients
  • Performing reconciliations and investigating breaks/discrepancies
  • Preparing trade confirmations and regulatory reporting
  • Booking trades, cash flows, and corporate actions
  • Managing cashflows (processing and/or settlement of PnL, collateral, interest, etc.)
  • Processing expiries and lifecycle events

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, serving as a liaison between clients and prime brokers/counterparties, and participating in various audits and regulator reviews. Additionally, you will learn new applications and help test integrations, work closely with the Trading Desk, Sales, Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams, and contribute to process improvement and the general operation of the team, swap dealer, and group.

Experience / Skills

We are looking for candidates with at least one year of professional experience working within a Middle Office role, covering trade settlements, fail control, reconciliations of trade discrepancies, and client servicing. Previous experience working for a Securities Based Swap Dealer is highly preferred. Additionally, we are seeking candidates with prior experience with various products, including equities, fixed income, repurchase agreements, futures, FX, options, and a working knowledge of Corporate Actions. Experience working with large data sets and proficiency in Excel (VBA a plus) are also essential.

Bonus

Experience with sell-side OTC derivatives, understanding of security-based swaps regulations, and regulatory reporting, as well as experience dealing with Auditors and Regulators, are highly valued.

We Offer

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $65,000 - $85,000, which is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. This range is based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. We also offer company equity, 401k matching, gender-neutral parental leave, and full medical, dental, and vision insurance. Our top priority is our people, and we are committed to creating a culture that promotes collaboration and diversity. We are an equal opportunity employer and believe that modern workplaces succeed by virtue of having high-performance workforces that are diverse - in ideas, in cultures, and in experiences.
