Job Summary

The Sports Medicine Specialist will provide comprehensive athletic training services to individuals and organizations associated with JAG Athletic Training in New York. The role requires a strong foundation in sports medicine and the ability to effectively communicate with athletes and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage athlete health and safety during events and competitions
  • Provide preventative and emergency care, including taping, bracing, and first aid
  • Document injuries, illnesses, treatment, and rehabilitation in accordance with JAG Athletic Training policy and state regulations
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Collaborate with JAG professionals in programs such as Physical Therapy and refer patients for service when needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training (CAATE-approved program) and completion of the BOC certification
  • Maintain the BOC-required 50 CEUs per certification period (every two years)
  • Licensed by the State of New York as an Athletic Trainer
  • Current BLS certification
  • Maintain personal liability insurance
  • Flexibility and adaptability necessary to adjust to fluid situations
