About the Role

Benchmark Lanier Islands Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading a team of culinary professionals in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of culinary staff in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages
  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies
  • Develop and implement new menu concepts and recipes
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement culinary strategies
  • Manage kitchen operations, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Participate in menu planning, food costing, and inventory management
  • Assist with special events and catering operations
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or resort culinary operation
  • Proven track record of success in leading a culinary team
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Food Safety Manager certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Culinary degree or certification
  • Experience with menu planning, food costing, and inventory management
  • Knowledge of food trends and culinary techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
