Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to lead our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation team at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all nursing activities related to patient care for a group of patients within a specific clinical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical and psychosocial needs, administer direct patient care, and provide education for the patient and their family.
  • Teach and/or demonstrate nursing care procedures, maintain a professional profile, and promote cooperation, a positive attitude, and a safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Assume accountability for the planning and implementation of care for Phase II, III, and IV Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, employee fitness, and exercise testing.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Licensure to practice in New York State
  • Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • RNC or ACSM eligible
  • Standing/walking 90% of the time
  • Ability to lift patients with or without assistance
  • Ability to push heavy objects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Recent Emergency Department experience
