Job Opportunity

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Little Canada, MN area. This full-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year offers the rewarding opportunity to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students with diverse needs in a self-contained classroom setting (K-8).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning styles, strengths, and challenges in a self-contained classroom.
  • Utilize a variety of engaging and differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities, and other special needs across the K-8 spectrum.
  • Create a positive and highly structured learning environment that fosters academic achievement, social-emotional development, and independence for students in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Provide ongoing assessments, monitor student progress, and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and adjust IEPs as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, specialists, administrators, paraprofessionals, and parents to ensure a cohesive support system for each student.
  • Advocate for students' rights and inclusion, fostering a positive school culture that celebrates diversity.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Minnesota State Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Prior experience working in a self-contained classroom setting with students with diverse learning needs across the K-8 spectrum is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans specifically tailored to the needs of students in a self-contained classroom.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students of all abilities, parents, and school staff.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes respect and inclusion for all students.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
