Job Summary

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support students in achieving their educational, social, and emotional goals. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with teachers to provide direct support and instruction to students throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, promoting academic growth and social development.
  • Assist teachers in implementing school-wide and class-wide positive behavior initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in displaying and maintaining on-task behavior, completing assigned work, and transitioning between activities.
  • Collect data on students' academic, behavioral, and social progress, informing instruction and support strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement student-specific treatment, teaching, or lesson plans, ensuring students receive targeted support.
Requirements
  • High school graduate, GED, or equivalent education and training.
  • Background checks, first aid and/or CPR certification, and registration or certification as required by state and local regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, prioritizing student needs and well-being.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel to/from school/work location, with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, climb stairs, and have visual and hearing acuity, with a strong sense of smell and touch.
