Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation and supervision of structural designs encompassing superstructure, foundation, shoring, and falsework tasks.
  • Develop and manage the creation of engineering documentation.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Review constructability of projects, taking into account construction methodologies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior structural engineering personnel.
  • Formulate and/or endorse structural engineering proposals along with associated fees.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various site and infrastructure initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Conduct engineering evaluations and installation practices.
  • Collaborate with design and contractor teams to develop solutions and methodologies.
  • Generate daily observation reports, actively engaging with ongoing work, approved shop drawings, and industry standards.
  • Review shop drawings and requests for information (RFIs) from contractors.
  • Evaluate schematic design (SD) and RFI responses from designers.
  • Engage with the construction management team on all aspects of project execution.
  • Address scheduling, valuation of work completed, and fair pricing for scope modifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience as a Structural Designer, including supervisory roles in building and transportation projects.
  • Proficiency in finite-element analysis, CADD software, and specialized engineering applications.
  • Experience in client-facing business development.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, particularly in technical proposals and interviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience on a design team for Design-Build projects.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Design, bridge design, and seismic engineering.
