Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and guide client families and their guests to the appropriate service area.
  • Assist visitors with guest book signing and distribute memorial materials as required.
  • Address inquiries and support the needs of client families and their guests during memorial events.
  • Receive and arrange floral tributes in service areas.
  • Ensure refreshments are available for client families and their guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of public spaces such as lobbies, chapels, restrooms, and reception areas before and after services.
  • Oversee parking arrangements for family and ceremonial vehicles during formal processions.
  • Assist in transporting families and attendees to and from service locations outside the funeral home.
  • Actively represent the business within the community to foster trust and loyalty.
  • Uphold a professional, honest, and ethical demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain a polished personal appearance while performing duties or representing the business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Customer service orientation and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Social perceptiveness and effective time management skills.

Education and Experience

  • A four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in funeral arranging is preferred.

Additional Qualifications

  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Willingness to engage in community involvement to enhance market presence.
  • Ability to empathize with client families and demonstrate patience in emotionally sensitive situations.
  • Capability to respond actively to client requests and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Positive attitude and organizational skills to maintain a conducive working environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include performing duties primarily in an indoor office setting, with some tasks potentially conducted outdoors. Responsibilities may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including inclement weather. Employees may need to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and standing.

Travel Requirements

This role may involve occasional local travel during business hours.
