We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at Huron-Clinton Metroparks. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order within our parks, enforcing laws and regulations, and providing excellent customer service to park visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol park areas to prevent and investigate crimes, enforce laws and regulations, and provide assistance to park visitors.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents, fires, and medical emergencies.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and prepare reports.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and park staff to ensure a safe and secure environment for park visitors.
- Provide excellent customer service, respond to park visitor inquiries, and resolve conflicts in a professional and courteous manner.
- MCOLES certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Associate's degree or 60 credit hours in a related field, such as criminal justice or park administration.
- Valid Michigan driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound judgments, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
The Police Officer will work in a variety of environments, including outdoor settings, offices, and emergency situations. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound judgments, and prioritize tasks effectively. The Police Officer must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
