Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide professional nursing care to office patients in non-complex situations under the supervision of a Physician and Clinical Practice Manager or Clinical Coordinator.
  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with SMG policy.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow and collect lab specimens according to departmental guidelines.
  • Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures, and document appropriately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Communicate and provide care consistent with age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient.

Obtains Vital Signs:

  • BP, temp, pulse, height, and weight accurately and completely as required, and document appropriately in EHR.
  • Review and update medication list in EHR, and demonstrate understanding of prescription control and prescription refill procedures.

General Job Functions:

  • Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposal of medical waste.
  • Maintain proficiency with department-specific equipment, troubleshoot, and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining of all supplies as assigned.

Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical School/Diploma Program required; Associates degree preferred.
  • New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification required.
  • 0-1 years experience; 2-4 years experience preferred.
