About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at BrainChip. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for implementing and optimizing machine learning algorithms for our Akida Neuromorphic System-on-Chip (NSoC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize machine learning algorithms for deployment on embedded systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our research team to translate machine learning models from theory to practice.
  • Software Development: Develop and maintain efficient code in Python, C, and C++ for real-time systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay current with advancements in machine learning, embedded AI, and related technologies.
  • Co-Design: Collaborate on machine learning algorithm/hardware co-design tasks to enhance system performance.
  • Debugging and Benchmarking: Debug and benchmark software to ensure optimal performance on the Akida hardware.
  • Customer Support: Interface with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support for machine learning applications.
  • Software Stack Development: Contribute to the development of the Akida software stack and toolchain.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience; or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Machine Learning Background: Strong background in machine learning and embedded AI.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, C, and C++.
  • Real-Time Operating Systems: Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Computer Architecture: Understanding of computer architecture principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Embedded Systems Experience: Experience in developing machine learning applications for embedded systems.
  • Multi-Project Experience: Multi-project experience in State Space Models (SSM), denoising, computer vision, audio processing, and sensor fusion.
  • Machine Learning Frameworks: Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
  • Development Tools: Familiarity with Docker and Git.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of Scrum/Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Jira).
  • Creativity and Innovation: Evidence of creativity and innovation in previous projects.

  • Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies and procedures, routine mail, contracts, and instruction manuals. Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
