William Backus Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality patient care in our outpatient neurological and orthopedic clinics. As a Physical Therapist, you will work with patients who have a range of neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and other movement disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions.
- Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions, including exercise programs, manual therapy, and education on proper body mechanics and injury prevention.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Connecticut.
- At least 3 years of experience in outpatient neurological and orthopedic physical therapy.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and current research in physical therapy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
