Research Associate-Fixed Term

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Pathology Expert to join our team in East Lansing, MI, USA. The successful candidate will take an active part in the National Predictive Modeling Tool Initiative (NMPTI) for cotton disease management.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multiple laboratories in the southern Cotton belt to process samples from spore traps and summarize data.
  • Assist with model development that predicts disease and analyze pathogen levels using molecular diagnostics.
  • Model pathogen epidemics and write manuscripts related to target spot and areolate mildew.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Plant pathology or a related field at the commencement of the position.
  • A background in plant pathology, molecular diagnostics, and epidemiology research.
  • Expertise in long-term ecological data analytics and modeling, and proficiency in statistical analysis.

  • An estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
