Process Line Technician

The Process Line Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining the cleaning line, ensuring that all parts are processed to customer specifications. This includes setting up the cleaning line, racking or placing parts in containers, and processing details to customer specifications. The successful candidate will also be responsible for inspecting cleaned details, logging necessary data, and maintaining chemical integrity of solutions in the cleaning line.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain the cleaning line, ensuring all parts are processed to customer specifications
- Set up the cleaning line, racking or placing parts in containers, and processing details to customer specifications
- Inspect cleaned details to ensure conformance to customer specifications
- Log necessary data into logbooks
- Maintain chemical integrity of solutions in the cleaning line
- Apply chemical coatings by dipping or spraying in accordance with customer specifications
- Assist in draining, cleaning, and refilling chemical baths
- Participate in internal and external audits as needed
- Perform specific calibrations and tests
- Be knowledgeable of parts preparation before and after inspection
- Organize and document test results
- Follow all approved testing procedures
- Maintain all equipment, including gauges, application equipment, and controls
- Observe all safety rules while performing tasks
- Understand and practice the principles of the Ducommun 6-S Program
- Be familiar with all Lean Manufacturing principles
- Cross-train in other facets of the process line
- Maintain a minimum of Level I qualification
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary
- Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Math skills, including decimals, percentages, fractions, geometry, and trigonometry preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, indicators, and scales
- Read and understand internal procedures and policies and travelers
- Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
- Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook
- Computer skills, including ability to learn new screens, reports, functions, software programs, and internal ERP systems
- Communicates courteously and professionally at all organizational levels
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to communicate effectively
The Process Line Technician will work in a 100% manufacturing environment, regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will also be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and airborne particles. Hearing protection is required, and safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) are required in all manufacturing areas. Fully enclosed shoes of solid, leather construction with a steel or composite toe cap (ANSI Z41 compliant) must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
