Position Summary:
The D454 division is tasked with the creation of sophisticated software systems that are robust, dependable, and designed to function flawlessly in the most challenging settings.
This team is accountable for orchestrating the software development life cycle (SDLC), which encompasses requirements analysis, software design and development, integration and testing, as well as delivery for advanced submarine classes.
The supervisor will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as other engineering disciplines and hardware engineers, to produce software solutions that fulfill or surpass quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
Key responsibilities include the initiation of new projects, estimation of resources, budget management, scheduling, optimal allocation of personnel, review and endorsement of software outputs, Technical Product Quality (TPQ), providing technical and administrative guidance, fostering personnel training and growth, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The candidate must adeptly manage multiple competing priorities while ensuring a strong focus on team development and the quality, cost, and schedule performance of projects.
Qualifications:
Essential:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Desirable:
Proven experience in leading a team of engineers.
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
Knowledge of embedded software systems.
