Job Title: Electronic Communications Systems Installer

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Communications Systems Installer to join our team at the City of Elmhurst. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic communication systems for city vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair electronic communication systems, including mobile radio communications systems and emergency lighting integrated systems.
  • Test and calibrate electronic equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Drive city vehicles to work sites and transport materials as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Two years of post-high school education in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communications software and hardware.
  • Journey-level experience in electronics maintenance, including knowledge of principles, methods, and materials used in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic communications and equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating test equipment, design and maintenance of communications systems, and safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $36.13-$50.59 per hour. The City of Elmhurst offers medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
