Assembly Technician

As an Assembly Technician at OPEX Corporation, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various manual machine shop equipment in our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ.

• Set up and operate manual machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, drill presses, tapping heads, arbor press, and surface and OD grinders.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and inform the supervisor of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability.
• Read and understand layouts, job packets, and blueprints for parts being manufactured.
• Inspect parts using micrometer, gages, and related inspection instruments.
• Perform side operations during machine cycle time as needed (i.e. deburring).
• Work as a team member to support all shifts and personnel to operate within departmental standards, including quality, productivity, organizational, and safety goals.

• Ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimal supervision and consistently maintain performance levels set for quality and quantity.
• Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe setups, operations, or actions that might cause injury to oneself, others, or the environment.
• Ability to work through daily operational activities.
• Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan effectively and execute plans.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft products.

• Worker will be working in a machine shop environment.
• Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Worker must be able to stand throughout their shift.

OPEX Corporation offers a competitive salary range between $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
