SUMMARY:
This role involves the preparation and serving of wholesome meals for students in a safe and health-conscious environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Prepares and serves meals according to established menus and adheres to portion control guidelines.
2. Conducts cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment and workspaces, and performing dishwashing duties.
3. Prepares beverages, manages beverage stations, and organizes food service areas.4. Distributes food to staff, students, and for catering events as needed.
5. Adheres to all local, state, and federal health regulations regarding safe food handling.
6. Follows all security protocols and guidelines set by the client location.
7. Inspects and organizes incoming supplies.
8. Observes scheduled breaks.
9. Collects and organizes trays for dishwashing and assists in ware washing as assigned.
10. Manages the storage of utensils, dishes, and kitchenware.
11. Participates in safety committees.
12. Attends all required training sessions.
13. Handles cash transactions if applicable.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Complies with all policies and procedures established by Whitsons Culinary Group.
2. Supports the objectives and mission of Whitsons.
3. Meets all food handling certification requirements.
4. Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
Assists in various locations as required.
Work Schedule:
Shifts available Monday through Friday only.
Compensation:
$16.00/hour
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of all required training by Whitsons and other mandated programs.
Other Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
1. Proficient in English to understand and execute job responsibilities.
2. Preferred one year of professional experience in food service.
3. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:
The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to effectively perform the essential functions of this position.
2. Use of hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
3. Standing for the majority of the workday with frequent movement.4. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, including turning while lifting.
5. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work primarily occurs in kitchen and serving areas.
Standing for most of the workday is necessary.
Movement in and out of storage areas and freezers is required.
Exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
