Key Responsibilities- Pre-Analytic Workflow: Perform all aspects of pre-analytic workflow, including receiving and processing specimens, verifying reagents and supplies, and ensuring enough supplies are available.
- Analytical Testing: Perform all aspects of analytical testing, including preventative maintenance on instruments/equipment, prioritizing testing based on established priorities, and responding effectively to changes in the workflow.
- Post-Analytical Workflow: Perform all aspects of the post-analytical workflow, including reviewing results for completeness, correctness, and consistency, and recognizing unusual test results/interpretations.
- Quality Control: Perform and record all necessary quality control, evaluate QC results, and take necessary corrective actions.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to convey test results and provide information on test procedures.
- Education: One of the following qualifications must be met: Bachelor's degree in medical technology from an accredited college or university, Bachelor's degree in one of the following; chemical, physical or biological sciences and in addition has at least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience, Associate Science in Medical Technology; and 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Experience: Two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills.
