We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Sunray Healthcare Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting physician-prescribed treatments, including operating IPPB machines, oxygen devices, nebulizers, and ultrasonic nebulizers to administer medicinal vapors and gases to the respiratory system.
- Explaining treatment purposes and procedures to residents, ensuring clear communication and empathy.
- Performing chest physical therapy treatments, including percussion, postural drainage, and suctioning to mobilize secretions and mucus in the lungs and clear airway blockages.
- Operating ventilators, ensuring adequate maintenance of ventilation during cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and performing pulmonary function studies to determine air volume, distribution, and movement in the respiratory system.
- Recording respiratory care records in residents' charts, reporting treatments and resident conditions to relief personnel, and processing respiratory therapy equipment for cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging.
- Participating in the Hazardous Material Program, protecting resident files and data with confidentiality, and adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Current California Respiratory License (credentialed by the NBRC)
- Valid BLS certification
- Minimum of 1-year work experience in a skilled nursing setting
- Excellent time management skills and ability to read, write, understand, and communicate proficiently in English
