Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse 1 role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure optimal outcomes for patients across all age groups, tailored to the specific service area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting age-specific admissions and ongoing assessments, documenting findings to inform the care plan.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members, patients, and families to create, implement, and assess an interdisciplinary care plan that is age-appropriate, adjusting as necessary based on patient condition.
- Administering and documenting treatments and medications accurately for patients of all ages using electronic medical record systems.
- Identifying and addressing patient and family educational needs promptly, integrating these into the care plan, and documenting appropriately.
- Upholding the role of patient advocate, ensuring the protection of patient rights, and providing psychological, social, and cultural support.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an approved program eligible for Virginia licensure.
Experience: None required.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or be eligible for licensure. CPR certification is required, with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as needed.
Additional Requirements: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC) is essential. Successful completion of orientation and competency assessments is required.
