We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and support to patients with mental health conditions, including assisting with daily living activities and behavioral coping skills.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and clean environment, including transporting supplies and collecting soiled linen.
- Participate in group therapy and lead patient education and activity groups as required.
- Perform various reporting and recording duties, including maintaining observation flow sheets and participating in nursing staff and team meetings.
- Minimum of two (2) years of college, required. Concentration in pre-health science or psychology-related courses, preferred.
- OR Minimum of six (6) years related experience, required. Previous experience with patient intervention in psychiatric settings, preferred.
- Ability to lift, turn, position, and restrain patients, as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, required.
