Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist/Laboratory Technician to join our team at Holzer Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, quality control, and maintenance in various sections of the clinical laboratory. They will also be responsible for solving instrument and procedure problems, making quality control decisions, and recognizing abnormal vs. normal results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory procedures, quality control, and maintenance in various sections of the clinical laboratory.
  • Solve instrument and procedure problems.
  • Make quality control decisions.
  • Recognize abnormal vs. normal results.
  • Instruct non-laboratory personnel on methods of specimen collection.
  • Obtain patient specimens by proper methods.
  • Consult with physician and/or supervisors on problems with clinical specimens or results.
  • Maintain stock of supply and reagents.
  • Assist manager and other laboratory personnel in evaluating new procedures.
  • Recommend instrumentation changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • ASCP Board Certified.
  • Two years' experience working as a Medical Technologist (MT) in high-complexity testing preferred.

Individuals without certification who have graduated from an accredited Medical Laboratory Program prior to 2005 will be considered for employment. Individuals without certification who have graduated from an accredited Medical Laboratory Program in 2005 or after will be considered for employment, but must obtain certification within 12 months of hire in order to retain employment.
