Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct stress evaluations and related tasks for innovative and modified designs of interior components and amenities as part of equipping new aircraft. This encompasses the assessment of engineering models and schematics, executing load assessments, and drafting stress documentation in partnership with the Structural Engineering team and Structural AR's for necessary approvals. Examples of designs include tailored cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets, and various storage units, interior boundaries, water/waste systems, entertainment system installations, and seating configurations.
- Evaluate modifications to the airframe to ensure compliance with the requirements for interior installations.
- Additional duties may involve comprehensive aircraft-level assessments such as decompression and floor load evaluations.
- Utilize classical hand calculations and Finite Element Modeling with FEMAP and Nastran for analysis.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficient understanding of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR - particularly Chapter I, Part 25), particularly regarding Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory processes and the STC procedure related to Aircraft Interiors certification.
- Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA V5 to effectively evaluate engineering designs.
- Expertise in FEMAP and NASTRAN is required.
- Exceptional communication and report-writing abilities are essential.
