Practical Nurse Specialist

Mass., Inc. is in search of a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team, providing exceptional care to patients on their path to wellness.
This position is available for both full-time and part-time roles across various shifts:
- 1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm
- 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm
- 3rd shift: 11:15pm-7:15am
Note: This role may require mandatory overtime.
Additional compensation of $4.00 per hour is offered for area differential.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate in executing individualized treatment plans by observing and reporting on patient behavior and needs.
- Supervise junior nursing staff to ensure the effective completion of assigned duties.
- Administer prescribed medications while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies, ensuring readiness for emergencies.
- Assist in training less experienced nursing staff on medication protocols and procedures.
- Communicate significant changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team to enhance patient care quality.
- Document patient progress and incidents in the Medical Information System to maintain accurate records.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to meet patient needs and foster a supportive environment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights on patient behaviors to aid in treatment planning.
- Engage in the patient admission process by accurately recording essential information.
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement therapeutic programs for patients and their families.
- Contribute to the hospital's operational performance initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Facilitate leisure activities for patients to promote social skills development.
- Uphold principles of collaboration, assessment, recovery, and environmental safety.
- Serve on relevant committees to ensure multidisciplinary representation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and inform junior staff accordingly.
- Step in to perform the duties of absent staff to maintain service continuity.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
- Proficient understanding of nursing principles and practices relevant to Licensed Practical Nursing.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Capability to supervise junior nursing staff effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing nursing practice.
- Experience with patients facing serious mental health challenges, substance use issues, or homelessness.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are advantageous given the patient population.
