Residential Counselor II

The Gándara Center is seeking a Residential Counselor II to join our team in Springfield, MA. As a key member of our residential program, you will provide support and guidance to youth and families, promoting their well-being and helping them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a shift in the absence of the Supervisor
• Ensure youth treatment plans are supported during shifts
• Accurately log all required documentation
• Act as a Staff Advocate for clients
• Provide safe responses to emergency situations
• Recognize and respect the ethnic and cultural diversity of each individual
• Promote trauma-informed practices
• Provide crisis intervention consistent with training
• Notify the Program Manager of client crises or incidents
• Assist clients with daily living activities

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree or bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred
• At least one year of experience working with youth
• Prior supervisory experience
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
