We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technician to join our team in the Operating Room Suite at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including setting up sterile instrument tables and preparing supplies.
- Perform surgical scrub and sterile instrument duties, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
- Assist the surgeon and other members of the surgical team in performing routine and delegated functions.
- Maintain asepsis and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in the care and handling of specimens, including application of dressings and securing drainage systems.
- Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite, as directed.
- Participate in the maintenance of quotas of current dates for sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms and storage areas.
- Assist in keeping the operating room and sterile storage areas and equipment in good order.
- Participate in the care and storage of instruments/special equipment in the operating rooms.
- High School diploma required. Courses in operating room technology, science, biology, and chemistry preferred.
- Graduation from Certified CST Training Program.
- Certified Surgical Tech certification through NBSTSA required.
- Prefer experience in operating room setting as Surgical Tech.
