Position Overview

Job Title: Mathematics Educator for Middle School

FLSA: Exempt

Job Status: Full-time

Reporting Structure: Reports to Principal

Role Summary: The Mathematics Educator is responsible for delivering engaging instruction to students, developing comprehensive lesson plans, assigning and evaluating homework, managing classroom dynamics, communicating with families, and fostering student growth in both academic and faith-based contexts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm to enhance student learning and support their academic progress.
  • Deliver subject-specific instruction by crafting lesson plans, activities, and projects.
  • Utilize assessment data to gauge student performance and tailor lessons to meet diverse learning needs. Provide constructive feedback on assessments to encourage future learning. Maintain fair and timely grading practices.
  • Engage in professional development, adhere to educational standards, and exemplify professional ethics and leadership. Collaborate with colleagues to set instructional goals and strategies.
  • Identify and procure materials necessary for implementing class activities and projects.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and parents regarding schedules, assignments, and individual student needs. Participate in parent-teacher conferences and utilize technology for updates.
  • Inspire students to cultivate skills, attitudes, and knowledge that provide a solid educational foundation.
  • Organize daily class schedules to ensure effective instruction within designated timeframes; develop weekly lesson plans with appropriate instructional resources.
  • Exhibit knowledge of the established curriculum, current educational research, and technological tools to address various learning styles and achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Assess each student's progress; maintain accurate records; prepare and administer assessments to evaluate student advancement; generate progress reports.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding school matters and comply with all relevant policies.
  • Ensure appropriate student supervision to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Attend required training sessions and faculty meetings; actively participate in the school community.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • All employees are expected to respect the teachings and principles of the Catholic Church.
  • Effective communication skills with parents, students, and colleagues in a positive manner.
  • Understanding of child development and the ability to relate to students.
  • Skills in supervising staff and communicating effectively with adults.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and bend. Communication abilities are essential for interaction with students and staff.

Working Environment: Standard classroom setting; full-time position. May require participation in school-related events outside regular hours.
