Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Surgical Services team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform minor surgical procedures as needed.
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies to enhance patient care and safety.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff on various aspects of surgical care, including preoperative and postoperative care, wound management, and pain management.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner).
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to patients, families, and healthcare staff. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based setting, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and quality improvement.
